The DMRC will offer a new ‘auto top-up’ feature that will enable the users to recharge the smart at AFC gates of the metro station. This service will be available to the users when the Delhi metro resumes its services.
Commuters will not need to queue up at metro stations to recharge the card thanks to this new feature.
The executive director of DMRC, Anuj Dayal, said that the new feature will be available through the mobile app ‘Autope’ for the customers. The mobile app has been specially developed for this purpose.
He said that the auto top-up functionality will be offered by the new smart cards issued by ‘Autope’. This feature will be functional whenever the value of the smart card will go below Rs 100 and will automatically recharge the card with Rs 200 at the AFC entry gate.
He also said that the autopen will auto-debit the topped-up value from the commuters’ linked bank account or card the next working day.
Commuters will have to register, to use the Autope smart card, by downloading the application available on Apple Store or Google Play store. The customers can also register at Autope.in and link their credit card, bank, or UPI account to the card as a one-time thing. Dayal said that however, a fee up to 1% will be charged a convenience fee from the customer for each transaction.
