A press conference was held in Guwahati of the Assam Government. In the conference, Assam Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that all those girls who will pass their higher secondary final exams with first division marks will get scooties.

There are 22000 girls who passed the higher secondary final exams with first division marks. Himanta Biswa said that on October 15, 2020, the state government will give scooties to the girls. Each scooty is worth rupees 50,000-55,000.

He further said that the Assam Government will launch a website sebaonline.org. All those students who want an electric scooter can visit the website. They can choose as per their choice of the variant. Students will pay the cost of registration. They will not be able to sell their Scotties for at least three years.

GOVERNMENT CLARIFIES REOPENING OF SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES

ASSAM GOVERNMENT FRAMED A COMMITTEE OF 40 MEMBERS

The state government of Assam framed a 40-member high-level committee. The Assam Minister said that the main motive to form this committee is to implement the National Education Policy.

THE COMMITTEE WILL HELP IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NEP

The committee framed will be divided into various subgroups. It will recommend how to implement the National Education Policy in Assam. The Education Minister said that the committee will make a framework for the implementation of the National Education Policy.

ASSAM GOVERNMENT ASKED THE COLLEGES TO INCREASE SEATS BY 25 PERCENT

Assam Government asked all colleges of the state to increase their undergraduate seats by 25 percent. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, schools were not able to conduct the remaining exams of class 12 students.

The central board gave marks to the students just as project assessments. Therefore there are many students of the state under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). They will not get seats in the college.

ASSAM GOVERNMENT ORDERED ALL THE TEACHERS TO JOIN FROM SEPTEMBER 1

The Education Minister said that he has urged colleges to increase undergraduate seats by 25 percent. Those seats will only be reserved for AHSEC students. He also said that all the teachers from primary classes to university will have to compulsorily attend their workplaces from September 1.

ASSAM GOVERNMENT URGED ALL THE TEACHERS TO TEST THEMSELVES FOR COVID-19

The Education Minister said that all the teachers will have to test themselves for COVID-19 from August 21. Teachers will have to connect with the workplace from September 1 with a negative COVID-19 report.
