The Deshbhakti Curriculum to be implemented in Delhi government schools will begin with a five-minute patriotic meditation. The Deshbhakti Curriculum is all set to develop in children a deep sense of respect for constitutional values, a deep understanding of values like equality and fraternity. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will launch this course during a program at Chhatrasal Stadium on the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh on Tuesday.
This syllabus will be implemented in classes from Nursery to VIII and from IX to XII. The teaching will start only when the classes start in the schools. There will be a period of patriotism every day from nursery to class VIII. Whereas in classes IX to XII, two periods a week will be held under the Deshbhakti curriculum.
These periods will begin with a five-minute patriotic meditation. In this, teachers and students will practice mindfulness and show gratitude to the freedom fighters and take an oath of respect for the country.
It may be noted that the Governing Council of SCERT had adopted the Patriotic Curriculum Framework on 6 August. Based on this framework, the core group of teachers has developed the Patriotic Curriculum.
