Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) did conduct a webinar on 4th February 2021. The AMU webinar’s topic was Indian Constitution, the Idea of India, and was organized by the law faculty of the University. Hence, it was a successful one as various experts participated and shared their views.

Professor Mohibul Haque from the Department of Political Science was the chief guest in the webinar. The AMU webinar was a successful one with worldwide participants.

What did the AMU webinar cover within the domain of the Indian Constitution?

The AMU webinar covered various aspects of the Indian constitution and the rights provided to all the Indian citizens under it. Hence, articulate experts deliberated about it. The webinar also emphasized the intellectual foundation of the modern Indian state.

Professor Mohibul Haque, the chief guest, highlighted the concept of Unity in diversity and quoted Article 29 and 30 of the Indian Constitution. Hence, he said that these articles ensure us a society that is discrimination-free and mandates minorities with various rights.

The AMU webinar also discussed the citizen’s duties as Indians. Hence the chief guest said that it is our fundamental duty to abide by the laws and be responsible.

Professor Nawab Ali Khan from the Department of Commerce, Professor M Shakeel Ahmed, Dean of Law faculty, and professor Nasir from the Law faculty attended the AMU webinar.

Professor Nawab Ali khan did inaugurate the event with his speech. Hence, he spoke about the several rights that are the right to equality, religion, freedom, education, and others. He quoted that the Constitution acts as a bridge between the government and citizens.

Professor Ahmed, the dean of Law faculty addressed the people and talked about the timeline of the Indian Constitution. Hence, he even highlighted the problems faced by the framers of the Constitution.

Professor Nasir conducted the whole webinar and also delivered a welcome speech. However, Kaif Siddiqui and others were introduced as speakers. The AMU webinar also had participants from all over the world like the UK, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.
