Jatin Kishore and Himanshu Jain, alumni of Delhi University secured 2nd and 4th positions in the UPSC Exam.
UPSE released its UPSC final result 2019 on Tuesday. Students can check their results on the official website www.upsc.gov.in. The total number of 829 candidates all called upon for the posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Service Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ positions. Pradeep Singh secured the first position in the UPSC exam. Two alumni of Delhi University secured second and the fourth position is the UPSC exam. Jatin Kishore and Himanshu Jain secured 2nd and 4th positions respectively in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2019.

HE WORKS WITH THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Jatin Kishore completed his schooling from Birla Vidya Niketan in Pushp Vihar. He is the resident of East Kailash. He completed his graduation in BA Economics honors from St. Stephens College of Delhi University and post-graduation in MA from Delhi School of Economics. Father of Jatin Kishore is a Deputy Commissioner in the Income Tax Department and his mother is a teacher. He said that he took a gap of one year after his post-graduation. In that year, he prepared for IES. He is currently working with the Ministry of Rural Development. He clarified his UPSC exam in the second attempt.

JATIN KISHORE WILL WORK ON EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENT RELATED ISSUES

He said that the last time he prepared for the UPSC exam, he did not attempt many preliminary questions. This time he tried to study consistently and did not make this mistake. On asking about his future plan being an IAS Officer, he said that being a Delhi Resident he would prefer the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories) cadre. He would like to work on education and environment-related issues.

HIMANSHU WOULD PREFER TO JOIN THE HARYANA CADRE

Himanshu Jain is the native of Hodal in Palwal district of Haryana. His father is a businessman. He moved with his father and homemaker mother to Delhi when he was 15. He completed his graduation in BA Economics Honors from Hansraj College of Delhi University. After his graduation, he started preparing for the UPSC exam but couldn’t crack it in the first attempt. He secured 4th position in the UPSC exam in his second attempt. On asking about his future plans, Jain said that he would prefer joining the Haryana Cadre as he is familiar with the issues of the state.
