Students belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes and OBC (Other Backward Castes) can get admission at the Delhi University under the quota system of the varsity.
Other than SC/ST and OBC categories, the varsity also provides reservation for physically-handicapped candidates, sports students, armed forces’ children and Kashmiri migrants.
QUOTA INFO
- Scheduled Caste= 15% of total intake in each course
- Scheduled Tribe = 7 ½ % of total intake in each course
Students have to fill the common admission forms carry the latest certificate in their names.
- Other Backward Classes = 27% of total intake in each course
They need to fill the common admission forms. Students should furnish an OBC certificate in their name, mentioning they belong to the non-creamy layer.
- Supernumerary seats:
(i) Persons with Disabilities (PWD) =3% of total intake (1% each for the persons with low vision or blindness, hearing impaired and loco motor disability or cerebral palsy (interchangeable in case of non-availability of candidates in the sub-categories).
(ii) Children/Widows of the eligible Armed Forces Personnel
(CW Category) =5% of the seats in each course.
(iii) Foreign Nationals=5% seats in each course in Departments/ Colleges.
- J&K SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
2% as per college allotted by AICTE
- Sports & ECA quota candidate strength
Sports/ECA Persons=up to 5% of total intake in each undergraduate course may be offered to the candidates on the basis of Sports and ECA. The varsity has put a limit on the strength of candidates securing admission under ECA and sports quota to 10% than the actual strength of every class.
- EWS reservation in DU admissions
From 2019 onwards, Delhi University has raised 10% seats for candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS). However, the increment will take place in two phases – 10% in first year and 15% in next year.
