The covid-19 pandemic and its constantly recurring waves are forcing Delhi University to take online exams and now distribute online degrees. Thus, in the last one year, the varsity has completely transitioned to online means. Promotion of teachers, taking online exams, initiation of research grants, confidential results, and digital degrees are all done digitally.

The pandemic has brought all the educational institutions including DU to a complete standstill ever since March 2020. Many DU faculty members and students bravely battled the infection and some even lost their lives.

As per available data, approximately 2.9 lakh students appeared in the first OBE in August 2020. Also, 1.7 lakh students appeared for the OBE conducted in December 2020. Thus, the University got better with this new technology and tackled every issue. Students wrote their exams safely from their homes and even teachers were able to evaluate via electronic means.

A sore in the examination attendance was witnessed in June OBE 2021. Hence, an average of 95 percent of students appeared for the exams this year. Due to the pandemic, students are given digital provisional certificates issued by the University so that they can apply for higher education.
