AFCAT EXAM is a pathway for young Men and Women to be apart this elite force as group A gazetted officers in flying and ground duty (Technical and Non- Technical) branches.

Indian Air Force conducts this examination twice a year to invite Indian citizens to be apart of Indian Air Force. Recently notification has been published by Indian Air Force regarding AFCASR 2/2020 for courses commencing in July 2021.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR AFCAT 2/2020

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

FLYING BRANCH

Candidates must have passed 10+2 level mandatorily with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics.
Graduation in any discipline with a minimum three years degree course. It should be from a recognized university and with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

OR
A Four-year degree course like BE/ B TECH with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent from a recognized university.
OR
Those Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent will also be eligible.

⦁ AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING ELECTRONICS

Candidates who have cleared 10+2 minimum 60% marks in Physics & maths and also have a minimum 4 years Graduation/Integrated PG Degree in Engineering/Technology.
Those Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or the Aeronautical Society of India.

⦁ GROUND DUTY NON-TECHNICAL

ADMINISTRATION
The candidate should have passed 10+2 and should have a graduate degree(Minimum three years degree course )in any discipline. It should be from a recognized university and with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. ( refer to official website)

EDUCATION
The candidate should have passed 10+2 in any discipline which includes integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation in any discipline.

AGE LIMIT AND CRITERIA

FLYING BRANCH (through AFCAT and NCC special entry)
As on 01 July 2020 – 20 to 24 years

Upper age limit is relaxable up to 26 years for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India), i.e. born between 02 July 1995 to 01 July 2001 (both dates inclusive).

⦁ Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

⦁ Minimum height requirements for Men and Women candidates opting for flying branch:162.5
⦁ Leg Length: Min – 99 cms, Max -120 cms.
⦁ Thigh Length: Max – 64 cms,
⦁ Sitting Height: Min – 81.5 cms, Max – 96 cms

There is no concession for age/sex/region in Flying branch

⦁ Minimum height for male candidates for Ground Duty (Technical/Non-technic) – 157.5 cms
⦁ Minimum height for female candidates for Ground Duty (Technical/Non-technic) – 152 cms

NOTE: The minimum acceptable height for Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of the North-Eastern region of India, Garhwal, and Kumaon region. For candidates belonging to the region of Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height is 2 cms less than that of what is applicable to men and women respectively.

AFCAT 2/2020: Selection Process

Selection of candidates is done on the basis of the following stages:
Written Test will be conducted consisting of objective type questions only.

The testing at AFSB consists of three stages as given below:-

(i) Stage-I: Officer Intelligence Rating Test along, Picture Perception and discussion test is conducted on the first day.
Those Candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I or those who do not meet the
required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.

(ii) Stage-II: Psychological test is conducted on Day 1 in the afternoon and the Group Tests and Interview commence after document check for the next five days.

(iii) For Flying Branch: Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) would be administered to recommended candidates only. This is once in a lifetime test.

Note: Candidates who have failed the CPSS/ PABT in an earlier attempt or any Flight Cadet who is suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be eligible forever.

AFCAT 2 2020: Application Fee

The Application Fee for AFCAT 2/2020 is charged as per the categories is given below:

AFCAT Entry (For All Candidates) – Rs.250/-
NCC Special Entry & Metrology Entry – Exempted
Note: Payment can be made through Debit Card/Credit card/Net Banking/Challan.

Admit Card – AFCAT 2 2020

Indian Air Force will release the AFCAT 2
The Admit Cards for AFCAT 2 will be released by Indian Air Force after the application process is over. The expected date is around10-15 days before the date of examination.

Result – AFCAT 2 2020

The Result for AFCAT 2 will be declared after around one month of the commencement of the exam.

AFCAT 2/2020: Exam Centre

The AFCAT 2/2020 Exam will be held at the following locations. The Exam Centre will not be changed under any circumstances. Therefore candidates should exercise due care before deciding the date/ slot of his/ her choice for the center for the examination before filling the form.
