PRESS RELEASE OF ABVP FOR THE EXAMINATION OF FINAL YEAR STUDENTS

UGC’s decision of conducting final year examinations of all students has been welcomed by the ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad). The ABVP has been constantly supporting the UGC’s decision of conducting the exams. They have believed the assessment of graduating students is necessary for their further employment or studies.

The guidelines for assessment or examinations in professional education was already issued by the BCI, MCI, and COA. The ABVP had reached out to more than 8 lakh students. After this, they had arrived at the conclusion that it is in the best interest of students that they are assessed.

The ABVP urged the universities to follow the guidelines issued by UGC. The guideline states that either examinations should be conducted or the various methods to evaluate final year students should be explored.

The students are also urged by the ABVP that they should be open towards the assessment procedure because it is for their own future.

In its press release, the ABVP has appealed to all the educational institutions to think of all the easy methods adopted by them to evaluate the final year students and what effect will it have on the students’ futures.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought an unprecedented situation with it. There have been several debates among universities and colleges on adopting new and innovative ways of conducting classes and taking examinations.

The adoption of any method will have a far-reaching impact on the future of students. There are several methods suggested by the UGC in its guidelines released on 27th April. These methods suggested are Open Book Examinations, project work. Written assignments and essays, etc. But wherever the implementation of these methods is not possible, it is best to postpone the exams.

To make this happen, a decision should be taken to reduce the syllabus and the duration.

DU EXAMS: DON’T TREAT STUDENTS LIKE GUINEA PIGS, HC TELLS DU

The National General Secretary of ABVP, Nidhi Tripathi, has said that while awarding the degree, the primary factors must be the aim and the quality of education imparted. Any decision must be taken while keeping the future of the student’s insight. It has been made clear by the shifting of the JEE and NEET entrance dates that the new session will only begin in November 2020.

Therefore, the universities and colleges should also wait until November 2020. By this time, the coronavirus pandemic will also probably be brought under control. After November, the University should move forward with a well-defined plan.

  1. DEAR ABVP,
I think you people are so worried about our career than our health,Do you think having top marks in our accadamic we will get employment in top most companies?if you think so than its just a joke. Because one of my Freind who is not good at accadamics and having 3 backlogs with low sgpa got placed in top company with high pay scale .but where as my other friend inspite of having 9.6 sgpa was still struggling for job. It’s almost common senairo, being in a respective position you ppl know about this very well ,at the talent matters, not marks.
Don’t make students suffer, support students, support for cancellation of fianl sem examination.
