JNU Fight: ABVP met Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice-Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit and Union Minister Jitendra Singh today. During the meetup, ABVP submitted a memorandum demanding an apology over the students’ assault incident that occurred a day before.
A violent clash broke out between JNU students and members of security staff inside the campus over scholarships on Monday. Meanwhile, five students and also Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) president Rohit Kumar got injured. Therefore, students accused the security guards of assaulting them. Also, Delhi Police two FIRs related to the violence in JNU.

Besides the demand of releasing leftover students’ fellowships, they also demanded to suspend their Ajay Dubey. On the one hand, students have accused the administration of the JNU fight incident. On the other hand, the university administration held the students responsible for the attack.
Further, ABVP demanded that JNU security officer Surya Prakash, Naveen Yadav and cyclops security be suspended shortly from University.
RSS-affiliated student organisation stated that on 23 August, ABVP met with Union Minister Jitendra Singh university VC to submit a memorandum in connection with the JNU administration’s assault on students on Monday. Further, it said, “Students who were members of ABVP told they were protesting peacefully for their fellowships at the administration block. However, the administration ordered JNU security staff to assault them.”
Furthermore, ABVP JNU president Rohit Kumar said, “For the past 12 days, students have been protesting peacefully, fighting for their rights. But no response came from the administration. And, when on Monday demanded their fellowships, the administration ordered the attack. And, security staff started beating and attacking the students.”
