Ramesh Pokhriyal in a valedictory session of the first course Subhashitam Samskritam spoke about India’s culture and historic texts. He explained that India’s ancient stories which were primarily written in Sanskrit contain all the answers to problems. India’s ancient tales give answers to varied subjects including chemistry, economics, metallurgy, physics, and astronomy. He asserted that a massive proportion of knowledge was left by the historic Vedas in these fields in Sanskrit.

Moreover, there is a need to cultivate and understand this language to earn the wealth of divine knowledge. He added that not only Indians but the entire world needs to understand it’s strength and dignity. The various initiative by the Indian government including Swachh Bharat, Make in India, Skill India, and Digital India to accomplish Aatmanirbhar Bharat are dependent on the ancient scripts and knowledge.

HRD minister Ramesh Pohkriyal was invited as Chief Guest at the valedictory session of the online course Subhashitam Samskritam. The 12-day online course of spoken Sanskrit has been conducted by the Sanskrit Club of IIT Roorkee. Professor Subhash Kak, Oklahoma State University, USA, and member and official of Prime Minister’s Science Technology and Innovations Advisory Council and India Organising Secretary Shri Dinesh Kamat along with Ramesh Pokhriyal were part of the event.

Pokhriyal while appreciating the initiative said that I request all Indian institutions and Universities to take such small steps to embrace the importance of Sanskrit. He urged that there is a necessity to cooperate learning with Sanskrit. Furthermore emphasized the significance of the language which holds the answer to all the problems. While poking towards the present coronavirus scenario, he said this is the opportunity to develop.

Ramesh Pokhriyal at the end of the event extended the gratitude towards IIT Roorkee professor and PM Narendra Modi. He added that such online programs are intended to make students learn introductory Sanskrit. Because such programs enable a spirit in the learners and develop a keen interest in the culture of the country.
