AAP Teachers’ Wing: On Thursday Aam Aadmi Party Teachers’ Wing held a hunger strike of about 12 hours against the Delhi University Administration. The strike was organised due to a delay in forming governing bodies in 18 Delhi Government colleges. Also because of the politicisation of the recruitment of DU’s teachers and principals.

Aam Aadmi Party Teachers’ Wing,  AADTA started the demand for the absorption of ad-hoc and temporary teachers in the university. Further, Executive Committee members, Academic Council Committee and Finance Committee and other teachers attended the hunger strike.

Aditya Misha, the national in charge of the wing said, “The AADTA will take its struggle further to state our demands in front of the university administration. Out of 12,000 DU teachers, there are 6,000 ad-hoc and temporary teachers. Therefore, variety has done massive displacement and is using all designs to subvert the policy of AAP Government for absorption.”

Further, he added that because of such recruitment processes, around 75 per cent of teachers get displaced. So, we are against such politicization of teachers and recruitment.

AAP Teachers’ Wing alleged that the Delhi University administration has been trying to eradicate accountability to the elected government. And, doing massive displacement faster before they were forced to stop such things. They should observe the university law and induct Delhi Government nominees.
