A pharmacist at JNU has been tested positive of coronavirus and is under home isolation now.

SELF RELIANCE IS THE ONLY KEY

The cases of coronavirus is increasing at a fast rate day by day. Although the country was in a lockdown for many days, but now only some States with containment zone are under lockdown. Rest all the states are free to work. As this is an infectious disease, self-reliance is the only key to avoid this disease. Social distancing should be followed by everybody. There are some norms and protocols of social distancing that need to be followed. People should wear a mask and gloves and always use a sanitizer. People should avoid physical touch because this is a kind of disease that will be infected to another person by just physical contact. So, self-dependence for everything is important.

THE UNIVERSITY ALREADY INFORMED DELHI GOVERNMENT REGARDING POSITIVE REPORT OF THE PHARMACIST

As per the news headlines, the Chief Minister of Delhi also showed symptoms of coronavirus. But the test came out to be negative. Now, the Jawaharlal Nehru University informed on Sunday that a pharmacist at Jawaharlal Nehru Health Centre has been tested positive of coronavirus. The pharmacist is now in home isolation. The University said that they have already informed the district surveillance of the Delhi Government in relation to this matter.

ANYONE SHOWING SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS MAY DIRECTLY VISIT THE HEALTH CENTRE OR TO THE GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL

The University said to all the students and staff members that if anyone has visited the health center or was in touch with any staff member of the health center shows symptom of COVID-19 may directly visit to the health center. If the health center is closed, he or she may visit any government hospital. The university said that all the students and the JNU Community are requested to follow the guidelines issued by the University. They are requested to follow the guidelines issued by the government of India and all the Delhi Government from time to time to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.

STUDENTS STRANDED IN HOSTELS SHOULD RETURN TO THEIR NATIVE PLACES

In this lockdown, all the offices, educational institutions, and other places are temporarily shut down. In fact, metro services and train services have also terminated. There are many migrants who wanted to return to their hometown are stuck somewhere or some faced a lot of difficulties while returning. Now, the Government of India has given some relaxation in this coronavirus induced lockdown norms. Some special trains and interstate buses will be operated following all the norms of social distancing. So JNU has advised the students stuck in hostels to return to their native places with the help of those special trains and interstate buses.

WHAT ABOUT EXAMS AT JNU?

Regarding exams of students, the university will take online exams of students. Still, there are some students studying in JNU who do not have access to the internet. So, the university has decided that students who have access to internet facilities may appear for online exams. Rest students who do not have access to the internet connection may appear for exams when they return.
