DU Admission 2018

Delhi University admission 2018 board aims to move to a national level entrance test for admission to most of its courses. This much ambitious plan is being worked on by a committee headed by M K Pandit. This committee is set to review and probably transform the entire (or some of the) admission process including the commencement of entrance examinations followed by centralized counseling.

This plan also aims at pruning the number of cutoffs, that often continue to be released even after semester lecture begins. 11 cutoffs were released in 2017. A centralized online counseling process might also be soon introduced (that will be used after 5 cutoffs) to fill up the remaining vacant seats to save time.

The online aptitude test might commence from the academic year 2019-20 which is expected to act as a just filtration system for aspiring undergraduates. If implemented, three separate online tests, one for each- science, commerce, and arts may be held as part of the filtration process.

Once the subcommittee arrives at a decision, their recommendation will be sent to the larger admissions committee for deliberations. If the proposal gets the approval, it will be forwarded to the academic council and then the executive council for further approval.
