BSc (HONS) STATISTICS FROM DELHI UNIVERSITY

As the admission process has started, students are looking for Top Delhi University Colleges 2017 and comparing different colleges based on various factors like education quality, faculty, and placements. Now there HRD ministry has also released ‘The National Institutional Ranking Framework’ (NIRF) rankings for various colleges which can make the process of choosing college easier for students. Amazingly, 11 colleges of DU have managed to get ranking among 100 colleges.

Check the ranking of Top Delhi University Colleges 2017 below:

1. Miranda House

Miranda house located on the north campus of DU ranked first in NIRF 2017.The college got grade A+ with CGPA 3.61. Miranda house which is a women college has 233 faculty members and has pioneered science education.

2. Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC)

SRCC, located on the north campus of DU is also one of the most sought-after colleges in India. Students from all over the country take admission here. The institution is solely dedicated to commerce and economics courses. The faculty comes from foreign universities. SRCC ranked third in the NIRF 2017.

3. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD)

ARSD come under South Campus of DU and is known for its education quality. ARSD ranked fifth in the NIRF 2017. It offers various courses in UG course in arts, commerce, and science and PG courses.

4. Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR)

LSR College is only for women and dedicated to empowering women in various fields. LSR has ranked seventh in the NIRF 2017. For studying Economics, LSR is considered one of the best colleges.

5. Dyal Singh College

Dyal Singh College ranked eighth in the NIRF 2017 and got grade A. The college offers various courses in humanities, science and commerce streams. According to students, faculty of college is diligent and helpful.

 

6. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College

The college ranked ninth in the NIRF and has shifted to the newly-built campus in Dwarka. College got NAAC B grade and CGPA of 2.63. The college offers various UG courses in Computer Science, Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, English, Commerce, and Bachelor of Management Studies.

7. Keshav Mahavidyalaya

KVM is located in Pitampura and has ranked fifteenth in the NIRF 2017. It offers various courses. Some of them are BMS, B.Com (Hons), BSc, BA Psychology, certificate and radio broadcasting courses.

8. Acharya Narendra Dev College

AcharyaNarendraDevcollege situated in Govindpura got its position at 20th. The college scored A grade by the NAAC with a CGPA of 3.31. College is known for its education quality. College provides enough exposure opportunity to its students.

9. Ramanujan College

Ramanujan ranked 33 in the NIRF 2017. College offers the courses like B.sc mathematics, B. sc computer science, B.A political science, B.A economics, B.A Hindi and B.A Phycology.

 

 

10. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (Evening Classes)

SBSC Ranked 34 in the NIRF 2017 and was awarded grade A with CGPA 3.26.Shaheed Bhagat Singh College offers courses in B.Com (Hons), BA (Hons) Geography, BA (Hons) Political Science, B.Com Programme and B.A Programme.

11. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College

College is located in Karol Bagh. It has ranked 46 on the list of NIRF 2017. It offers courses in B.Com (Hons), B.Com Programme, B.A English, B.A Hindi, B.A Punjabi, B.A History, B.A Political Science, B.A Hindi, Journalism & Mass Communication, B.A Business Economics and B.A (Programme).

These colleges have got ranking on the basis of certain parameters like teaching and learning resources, graduation outcome, perception, outreach and inclusivity and research productivity. These rankings to respective colleges were collective efforts of their teachers and students.

There was also some prominent college of Delhi University which didn’t apply for a ranking like St Stephen’s College, Hindu College, Delhi School of Economics, Ramjas College and Hansraj College. The reason according to some college principals is that they missed the deadline while some said they were busy with other inspections. Most of them have assured that they will apply for the survey next year 2018. Moreover, these colleges already hold good NAAC grade.

According to the government, these rankings are crucial because government funding for institutions depend on these rankings. Institutes that perform better in the NIRF are considered for greater autonomy and more international exposure.
